Stay Home, Stay Healthy

COVID-19 is spread widely across Island County. Stay home and stay healthy!

Residents should limit or combine essential activities and stay home to as great an extent possible to limit potential exposure to the virus that causes COVID-19. Isolate at home if you are sick and do not call 911 or visit the emergency room unless your symptoms warrant this level of care.

Practice reasonable preparedness.

Buy enough groceries for two weeks, but leave the rest for others. Please do not by or stockpile medical supplies that are needed by healthcare providers, especially N95 masks. Create a plan for who can help deliver food and medications in the event that you become sick and need to isolate or are directed to quarantine at home.

Testing is still limited and does not give a complete picture.

Test results take from 48 hours to a week with patients and providers provided with results before notification to public health. Everyone should follow the stay home, stay health order and essential businesses and services should follow social distancing guidance as much as possible.

For additional information visit the Island County Public Health or Washington State Department of Health web sites.
