Today CWIFR B54 was assigned to protect structures around Rainbow Lake & Wannacut Lake at the Palmer Fire in Okanogan County. A challenging assignment with some structures saved, but unfortunately others were lost to the fire.

Central Whdibey Fire & Rescue (CWIFR) recently responded to a fire that resulted in loss of a number of baby chicks and significant damage to a barn that was caused by ignition of combustible materials by a heat lamp used for brooding baby chicks.

Since 2008 Central Whidbey Island Fire & Rescue (CWIFR) and North Whidbey Fire and Rescue (NWFR) have partnered with the Whidbey Island Hospital District (WhidbeyHealth), staffing Basic Life Support (BLS) Ambulances for the hospital through an Interlocal Agreement.
